Blockchain analytics platform Bubblemaps pointed out that Hayden Davis, the driving force behind the LIBRA turmoil related to the President of Argentina, is suspected of manipulating another meme coin, WOLF. With its market value plummeting more than ninety percent from $40 million, Argentine authorities have asked Interpol to issue a red notice for Davis.

Revealing the inside story of the WOLF token crash: Hayden Davis is you again

Blockchain analytics platform Bubblemaps recently reported that Hayden Davis, the controversial LIBRA token "promoter" associated with Argentine President Javier Milei, recently launched another meme coin WOLF of Wall St (WOLF), and its market capitalization has rapidly climbed to $40 million since its issuance on March 8. But then it plummeted 99%. The current WOLF coin market cap is only about $510,000.

The meme coin WOLF crashed after a brief spike, and on-chain data pointed to Davis

According to Bubblemaps, the WOLF coin creation address is associated with other tokens that Davis has previously operated ( including LIBRA and MELANIA meme coins ):

We tracked the movement of funds starting with 6MsuHd, the creator of WOLF coins, moving across 17 addresses and 5 chains, and finally found that all funds converged to the same address at the beginning of OxcEAe. That's exactly Hayden Davis' wallet!

He stated that the WOLF coin is related to @wallstreetbets, a social account known for promoting meme stock trading, which helped promote the token. Even after the initial market interest in the coin, its price quickly collapsed, causing investors to lose a lot of money.

Argentina's political turmoil is raging, and Davis is feared to be wanted internationally

Chain News previously reported that a few days after the issuance of the WOLF coin, a number of prosecutors and lawyers in Argentina have formally asked a judge to issue an Interpol (Interpol) red notice (Red Notice) Davis, claiming that he has a large amount of money, may use their financial resources to abscond or hide, thereby obstructing the judicial process:

Davis played a central role in the creation and promotion of the LIBRA cryptocurrency, and the case has had international implications, so he may be trying to evade justice.

Argentine President Milei's association with the LIBRA token has become a major scandal in the country, and the incident has even led to political parties and physical clashes within the Argentine Congress, which has continued the LIBRA token controversy.

Bubblemaps pointed out in a tweet that Davis began transferring funds through multiple addresses and blockchains months before the release of LIBRA and WOLF, trying to obfuscate its tracks:

Why did Davis do this? He probably thought that no one would trace his identity.

SEC: MemeCoins are not regulated by securities laws, but the risk of fraud is high

A recent statement from the SEC (SEC) stated that memes are not securities and therefore not subject to federal securities regulations. However, the agency still warns investors to be cautious and avoid scams:

Investors who buy and hold memes are not protected by U.S. securities laws, but may still face investigation and prosecution by relevant regulators if they are involved in fraud or illegal sales.

In the absence of perfect regulation of the crypto market, the rapid rise and collapse of similar WOLF coins may still occur frequently. Investors should remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to market manipulation.
