Software Engineer: There's No Such Thing as "XRP Will Reach 1,000 USD"

Famous software engineer Vincent Van Code recently commented on RLUSD, distinguishing between stablecoins and XRP. In response to criticisms that RLUSD would collapse alongside the US dollar in a hyperinflation scenario, Van Code dismissed this claim as erroneous.

His comments came after a heated debate about a video claiming that XRP will surge dramatically when the financial system collapses and the dollar strengthens. Dark Horse, a cryptocurrency researcher, questioned this logic, arguing that if RLUSD, an integral part of the ecosystem, is pegged to the dollar and backed by dollar-based assets, it cannot be immune to the failing fiat money system. Van Code responded that although there may be "quirky points" in how some people present their ideas, the broader ecosystem surrounding XRP, including RLUSD, indicates that deeper strategic developments are underway. He stated that RLUSD "is just a digital, encrypted version of the dollar," and argued that critics who misunderstand this are mistaken or deliberately provocative. The Role of XRP in the Developing Financial Infrastructure Van Code positions XRP not just as a speculative asset. He views it as a utility token that supports cross-border payments and provides liquidity. He compares the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to functional software tools that require proficiency to have an impact, emphasizing that practical utility is the distinguishing factor of XRP by 2025. He compares this to the quiet disappearance of tokens operated by retail and layer 2 projects, stating that real utility tokens like XRP and HBAR continue to develop infrastructure, agreements, and enterprise-level acquisition activities. According to Van Code, most large volume transactions today occur in the OTC or dark pool environment, rather than through traditional retail channels. However, he acknowledges that retail liquidity is still necessary for assets to function as desired. Price Prediction: No Information on Whether XRP Will Reach $1000 or Not Van Code believes that if Ripple can capture a significant share of global transactions, XRP could reach $1,000 to sufficiently serve this market. Dark Horse calls Van Code a maximalist for this prediction and claims that widespread adoption by organizations like DTCC will not affect the asset's price until the collateral runs out. Van Code clarified that his prediction of XRP at 1,000 USD was merely a hypothesis. He used it to emphasize that a high token price is crucial for providing global liquidity. He stressed that without a freely traded and widely accepted asset, Ripple's payment corridors could face liquidity shortages. He also explained that Ripple's escrow accounts help balance supply when demand increases. He noted that DTCC is just one of many use cases and that continuous liquidity injection could drive higher value. While hopeful for a high valuation, he dismissed the influence of social media, stating that the utility of XRP will ultimately determine its role in finance.
