Why do most rural college students have a relatively poor performance?
The main reason is that they do not engage in entertainment; indulging in food, fun, and leisure, or rather, eating, drinking, and gambling is actually a very important skill.
I myself come from a very poor rural background and understand rural people very well. They are those families in the countryside with difficult situations, but the individuals are quite intelligent and are able to get into university, even prestigious universities, as top students.
Most of these people are relatively mature and have determined early on that they want to leave the countryside, but they do not want to do so through working. Therefore, most of them change their fate through diligent studying.
Their characteristics are that they are particularly smart and diligent, then simple, introverted, self-disciplined, self-restrained, a mix of arrogance and inferiority, but they lack confidence.
How diligent were many of my classmates from high school? They believed that resting was a sin. When I was in high school, the girls in my class even thought that talking to us boys during break time was a sin. They even felt that having long hair was a sin because it required frequent washing, and washing their hair wasted time that could be spent doing homework.
I am very cautious about losing my ambition due to distractions, so I spend all the available time on studying, and I will never waste my time in places that do not yield any results.
In the student era where scores are the priority, this is certainly an extremely effective strategy in the face of the college entrance examination. Most of them will also study hard and get admitted to a relatively good school.
However, the majors generally chosen by professionals are usually not good, because when they graduate from high school without knowing anything, they are often led by confident but clueless elders, such as parents and teachers, to enroll in some strange and risky majors.
Choosing the wrong major is not the most important thing; what matters is that they also missed how to learn to play.
They have never felt that playing is unimportant since childhood, and have even looked down on some people who are very good at playing, thinking that playing is wasting time that could be spent on studying,
I probably only understood after going to university that being able to play is actually a very, very important skill.
For many people, those who have gotten drunk together after a breakup, played games all night, played football, fought together, or even visited a brothel together... these people are the true good friends.
Playing is an important medium for connecting with others and establishing communication channels.
In the process of a person's growth, if there is a lack of play, it becomes very difficult to establish a foundation for high emotional intelligence. If a person is always immersed in learning textbook knowledge and does not engage in anything relaxing, then this person will give others the impression of being less interesting.
This is actually not difficult to understand, because there is nothing good to talk about with him, except for studying.
Of course, top students may have their own small circle, but more than 99% of people in life are ordinary individuals who do not prefer the kind of knowledge exchange model from student days.
The knowledge exchange model during student years is only useful for learning knowledge and skills.
However, in this era, it is difficult for a person to achieve significant things without establishing effective connections with others and leveraging human resources.
In this society, many times everyone needs emotional value, and when they enter the workplace, they will not go out to play, eat and drink, treat and give gifts, business K touch milk, and prostitute in the club...... A lot of things are really hard to do, because most people are laypeople, because laypeople need these things.
I have this problem myself; I have no idea how to play, I'm not interested in eating, drinking, or gambling at all, and I don't know where in a city one can eat, drink, or gamble. I'm very bad at dealing with people.
Talking to anyone feels like discussing issues; opening my mouth feels like educating others. When I try to negotiate with others, they are always probing and touching, while I am trying to persuade people with grand principles.
I know some top students from rural areas who are unable to develop further, many of them are stuck at this stage, finding it difficult to establish deeper relationships with others, which not only affects their career development but may also make it challenging to even date.
If someone is relatively quick-witted and just enters society, they will realize this issue, but will find it very difficult to learn. The difficulty lies in a U-shaped psychological transformation; once a person reaches adulthood, their personality becomes fixed and it is hard to make significant changes.
Some people might say it's because of money, but that's not true. Even if these people have money, they will still approach it from the most rational perspective, spending money wisely just like during their student days. Whether it's money or energy, limited resources must be properly allocated. Energy should be used for studying, and money should be invested, like buying a house.
Even if you have hundreds of millions or even more money in your hands, you wouldn't think of using that money for consumption, for fun, to please yourself, or to make friends, to indulge in eating, drinking, and gambling with friends.
In the investment market, losing hundreds of thousands or even millions, yet unwilling to spend a few thousand to buy a nice outfit for oneself.
Ultimately, the way of thinking formed during adolescence will affect a person's entire life, and the transformation of this rational way of thinking is the most difficult.
